Sparks defeat Mercury to head back to WNBA finals

(TSX / STATS) -- Candace Parker scored 21 points, including a driving, left-handed layup with 2.9 seconds to play, to send the Los Angeles Sparks back to the WNBA Finals for the second straight season with a thrilling 89-87 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday at Talking Stick Arena in Phoenix, Ariz.

Lynx C Fowles named WNBA MVP

(TSX / STATS) -- Minnesota Lynx center Sylvia Fowles was named the WNBA's 2017 Most Valuable Player on Thursday.

Sparks open title defense with win vs. Mercury

(TSX / STATS) -- All five starters scored in double figures as the Los Angeles Sparks opened up defense of their WNBA title with a 79-66 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday in the opener of a semifinal series at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Griner powers Mercury over Sun

(TSX / STATS) -- Brittney Griner had a game-high 26 points and nine rebounds to help the fifth-seeded Phoenix Mercury come back to upset the fourth-seeded Connecticut Sun 88-83 Sunday in a second-round playoff game at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

Griner, the WNBA's leading scorer in the regular season, was helped out by all-time league-leading scorer Diana Taurasi, who added 23 points. (MORE)

Griner leads Mercury past Storm in WNBA playoffs

(TSX / STATS) -- In a battle of the WNBA's top two scorers, Breanna Stewart and Brittney Griner ended up tied, but Griner's Phoenix Mercury are moving on.

Griner, the league's regular-season scoring leader (21.9 points per game), tallied 23 points and 11 rebounds in 40 minutes as the Mercury beat the Seattle Storm 79-69 in the opening round of the WNBA playoffs on Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena in Phoenix. (MORE)
