Mercury's Taurasi breaks scoring record in loss to Sparks

(TSX / STATS) -- Diana Taurasi became the WNBA's all-time leading scorer, but the milestone came in a losing effort as the Los Angeles Sparks rolled to a 90-59 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday afternoon at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Nneka Ogwumike had 18 points and seven rebounds for Los Angeles (8-3), which has won four in a row and six of its last seven. Candace Parker had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Taurasi scored 19 points for Phoenix (6-5) to raise her career total to 7,494. Camille Little added 14 points.
