Analysis: Duhon hasn't had double digits in assists for the past five games, but he's averaging 21.0 points in his last two.
1/9/2009 Darius Miles, SF (Mem) Hours before Miles cleared waivers Friday morning, Trail Blazers team president Larry Miller sent an e-mail to the other 29 NBA teams threatening litigation if a team takes Miles simply to adversely impact Portland's salary cap.

Analysis: If Miles plays in two more games this season, Portland would be on the hook for $18 million - the amount remaining on Miles' contract, which would count against the salary cap and force the team to pay luxury tax. As a result of the e-mail, ESPN.com reported the issue would be discussed Friday at a previously scheduled meeting between NBA and players' union attorneys.
1/8/2009 Dwight Howard, C (Orl) Howard had 23 points and 19 rebounds as Orlando preserved a 106-102 victory Wednesday night in a matchup of the top two teams in the Southeast Division.

Analysis: Howard wrestled the NBA lead in double-doubles away from New Orleans' Chris Paul with his 26th on Wednesday. He's averaging 20.8 points and 15.0 rebounds in his last six games.
1/8/2009 Andrea Bargnani, F-C (Tor) Bargnani had 25 points on 8-for-9 shooting as the Raptors beat worst-in-the-East Washington 99-93 on Wednesday night by making 54 percent of their field-goal attempts.

Analysis: Bargnani's production has improved drastically since he was inserted into the starting lineup on Dec. 31. In the five games since, he's averaging 21.8 points on 57.4 percent shooting. He's shooting 61.5 percent (16-of-26) from 3-point range.

Analysis: Marion averaged just 9.5 points and 7.5 boards in his previous two games.
