Thanks to goals from Will Hughes and Richarlison, Watford spoiled David Moyes' debut as West Ham United coach with a 2-0 victory on Sunday at Vicarage Road.

Watford (5-3-4) were on top after just 11 minutes when Hughes was able to turn a scuffed shot from Andre Gray into the bottom corner of the net.

Moyes' Hammers (2-3-7) had chances to level before the break, but Heurelho Gomes was in fine form to superbly save efforts from Cheikhou Kouyate and Marko Arnautovic.

It became 2-0 just after the hour mark when the Hornets flew forward on the counter attack with Hughes slipping the ball into Richarlison, who fired a shot passed Joe Hart into the corner of the net.

Watford, who snapped a three-game slide, sit eighth in the Premier League table while West Ham are in the middle of the drop zone.
