EPL favourites Man City start with 2-0 win at Brighton
Two quick goals in the second half, the first from Sergio Aguero, gave Manchester City a 2-0 win at Brighton on Saturday in the season opener for both sides.
After the Argentine's strike on 70 minutes, Brighton defender Lewis Dunk headed into his own net five minutes later to seal all three points for City.
Brighton frustrated the Sky Blues for large parts of the game. In the first half, new signing Mathew Ryan was only forced to make one save of note, keeping out a header from Gabriel Jesus.
Their resolute defence was finally broken on 70 minutes, though. After a mistake from Dale Stephens, David Silva pounced before finding Aguero in the area, and he finished smartly from a tight angle.
With Brighton still licking their wounds, Dunk then headed into his own net after Fernandinho had whipped in a dangerous cross.
Brighton failed to force a nervy finish for City, who saw the game out comfortably.
