West Ham United-Bournemouth Preview

Gary O'Neil does not believe his Bournemouth team have done enough to secure Premier League survival and is focused on picking up another three points when they host West Ham.

Only Aston Villa (12) have won more Premier League points in April so far than Bournemouth (nine), with O'Neil's men clinching a stunning 3-2 win at Tottenham last week to move six points clear of the relegation zone.

Bournemouth were viewed as relegation favourites just a few short weeks ago – and O'Neil is determined to add to their tally of 33 points and protect their place in the top flight.

"My full focus is just trying to win the next game. Whether it's three wins on the trot or not, it doesn't make any difference," O'Neil said. "We definitely need more points, 33 won't be enough. We're as we were two weeks ago before we beat Leicester and Tottenham.

"We're just desperate to add another three. Nothing has changed or switched. We understand that we're still in a scrap to make sure we're in this division next season."

Bournemouth's excellent run of form has moved them two points ahead of upcoming opponents West Ham, who are four points clear of danger but face a daunting set of fixtures before the end of the season.

The Irons were able to switch their focus to Europe in midweek as they thrashed Gent 4-1 to reach the Europa Conference League semi-finals, but boss David Moyes has already turned his attentions back to their domestic efforts.

"It's always nice to reach the semi-final of any cup competition so it was really enjoyable to see the boys playing well and scoring goals," Moyes said of Thursday's win. "We can park it for a few weeks and now our focus is Premier League fixtures."

Bournemouth – Dominic Solanke

Solanke has been directly involved in more Premier League goals than any other Bournemouth player this season (11 – five goals, six assists). However, he has scored just once from 36 efforts at goal at the Vitality Stadium (3 per cent conversion rate), compared to four goals from 26 shots in away league games this term (15 per cent).

West Ham – Jarrod Bowen

Bowen has been directly involved in six goals in his last 11 Premier League appearances (three goals, three assists). However, all of those goal contributions have come at the London Stadium. He has not scored or assisted in any of his last 15 away appearances, with all eight of his goal involvements this term arriving at home – the most goals and assists in a single campaign without any on the road since Moussa Sissoko in 2015-16 (also eight).

- Bournemouth enter this game having won back-to-back Premier League matches for the first time this season. The Cherries haven't won three Premier League games in a row within the same campaign since March 2016.

- The Hammers ended an 11-game winless away run with their victory at Fulham a fortnight ago, but they have not won successive matches on the road since January 2022.

- While Bournemouth are looking to win four Premier League games within one calendar month for the first time, West Ham have won four successive matches against newly promoted sides since their defeat at Nottingham Forest in August.
