Solar Flare wins Big A's Half High Stakes NEW YORK (AP) Solar Flare, the 4-5 favorite, took charge in midstretch and beat More Than a Reason by three-quarters of a length Wednesday in the $67,150 Half High Stakes at Aqueduct. Making his first start for trainer Tony Dutrow, Solar Flare ran the one mile in 1:35.46 on the fast track. The 5-year-old ridden by Ramon Dominguez got his seventh win in 18 starts, paying $3.70, $2.90 and $3.10. More Than a Reason returned $9.50 and $5.40. Timber Reserve paid $4.40 to show.
