Giants try to take another step out of abyss

(TSX / STATS) -- EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- After starting off 0-5 with seemingly no idea on how to get things on track, the New York Giants finally came up with a winning formula on offense that gave the Giants an impressive 23-10 win over the Denver Broncos' No. 1-ranked defense.

That formula, though, was a sharp break from the type of offense head coach Ben McAdoo has historically run largely due to injuries at the wide receiver spot. New York, who this week will host the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, ended up running the ball 32 times while passing only 19.

"Yeah, a lot less passing and that's just the circumstances of what we were in last week," said quarterback Eli Manning. "Had some new receivers, different guys playing some of their first games and first games in a while. So, you had to be careful, it wouldn't be a game we're going to throw it 40 times. So, we still have to throw it, we have to hit some shots, we have to make some plays, but you've just got to be smart about it."
