(TSX / STATS) -- Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey was removed from the team's physically unable to perform list and returned to practice on Saturday.

Ramsey opened training camp on the PUP list while continuing his recovery from core muscle surgery in June.

"I feel like I have a high pain tolerance, so I was fighting through it for a while trying to be out there for my teammates," the 22-year-old Ramsey said, per ESPN. "I probably made it a little bit worse, but I think I caught it pretty quickly.

"I had the option whether to do it (surgery) or not. The timing was just right. Why not do it, fix it completely, so it won't come back and linger around?"

Ramsey, who was the fifth overall pick of the 2016 draft, collected 65 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble while starting every game during his rookie season.

Defensive end Calais Campbell returned to practice on Saturday for the first time since July 30. Campbell was sidelined due to an undisclosed medical issue.
