|Oct. 20 8:20 AM PT9:20 AM MT10:20 AM CT11:20 AM ET15:20 GMT11:20 PM 北京时间8:20 AM MST10:20 AM EST10:20 AM CT19:20 UAE11:20 ET13:20 - In Sunday's loss to Green Bay, Newton, who had a career-high 17 carries last week, had 41 yards rushing on seven attempts. He passed for 205 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown for Carolina (3-3-1).
Analysis: Perhaps Newton's step back is in part due to the fact that the Packers' offense is rolling and he had to play from behind the entire game.
|Oct. 13 7:33 AM PT8:33 AM MT9:33 AM CT10:33 AM ET14:33 GMT10:33 PM 北京时间7:33 AM MST9:33 AM EST9:33 AM CT18:33 UAE10:33 ET13:33 - Newton had a monster fantasy day as Carolina played to a 37-all tie at Cincinnati on Sunday.
Analysis: Newton threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns, adding 107 yards and another score on the ground. The former Auburn standout was clearly looking to use his legs after running for a combined 42 yards in the first four games.
|Oct. 6 4:08 AM PT5:08 AM MT6:08 AM CT7:08 AM ET11:08 GMT7:08 PM 北京时间4:08 AM MST6:08 AM EST6:08 AM CT15:08 UAE7:08 ET10:08 - Newton was 19 of 35 for 255 yards but threw two TDs in Sunday's win over the Bears.

|Oct. 2 6:49 AM PT7:49 AM MT8:49 AM CT9:49 AM ET13:49 GMT9:49 PM 北京时间6:49 AM MST8:49 AM EST8:49 AM CT17:49 UAE9:49 ET12:49 - Newton never expected he'd still be dealing with pain in his left ankle more than six months after surgery. The ankle injury, along with the broken ribs he suffered in the preseason, has limited Newton's running ability. He has just eight carries for 33 yards and no touchdowns in three starts, well below his normal production.
Analysis: Fantasy owners should not expect Newton to run wild in the near future. Also, coach Ron Rivera said when Newton fractured his ribs in an Aug. 22 preseason game against New England it set his recovery from ankle surgery back. It could be a tough season for Newton's owners.
|Sep. 28 6:35 PM PT7:35 PM MT8:35 PM CT9:35 PM ET1:35 GMT9:35 AM 北京时间6:35 PM MST8:35 PM EST8:35 PM CT5:35 UAE (+1)21:35 ET0:35 - Newton completed 14 of 25 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown in the Panthers' 38-10 loss to Baltimore on Sunday.
Analysis: Newton has managed one passing score in each of his first three games, but he has yet to throw an interception. While Newton has been solid this season, he's lacked that signature electric performance with strong numbers through the air and on the ground. He's gone seven games without a rushing touchdown.
|Sep. 22 2:50 PM PT3:50 PM MT4:50 PM CT5:50 PM ET21:50 GMT5:50 AM 北京时间2:50 PM MST4:50 PM EST4:50 PM CT1:50 UAE (+1)17:50 ET20:50 - Newton was 24 for 35 for 250 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh. He also ran just twice for seven yards.
Analysis: Cam has left owners seeking top-five fantasy production in the dust thus far, passing for just 531 yards and two touchdowns through two games.

Analysis: The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback was held out of Carolina's win on Sunday at Tampa Bay with fractured ribs, but backup Derek Anderson stepped in and threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-14 victory.
|Sep. 7 11:32 AM PT12:32 PM MT1:32 PM CT2:32 PM ET18:32 GMT2:32 AM 北京时间11:32 AM MST1:32 PM EST1:32 PM CT22:32 UAE14:32 ET17:32 - Newton is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a hairline fracture in his ribs.
Analysis: The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback was injured during the Panthers' third preseason game and was limited in practice last week. He didn't miss a game in his first three NFL seasons.
|Sep. 1 9:23 AM PT10:23 AM MT11:23 AM CT12:23 PM ET16:23 GMT12:23 AM 北京时间9:23 AM MST11:23 AM EST11:23 AM CT20:23 UAE12:23 ET15:23 - The Panthers are sounding less and less optimistic that Newton will be ready for the team's regular season opener Sunday at Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Coach Ron Rivera said he will make a game-time decision on Newton's availability after the fourth-year quarterback was limited in practice Thursday while recovering from fractured ribs.
|Aug. 27 9:06 AM PT10:06 AM MT11:06 AM CT12:06 PM ET16:06 GMT12:06 AM 北京时间9:06 AM MST11:06 AM EST11:06 AM CT20:06 UAE12:06 ET15:06 - Newton says he feels great and "there's no doubt" in his mind he'll be ready to play in the Panthers season opener Sept. 7 against Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Carolina's fourth-year quarterback is recovering from a hairline fracture to multiple ribs and says he's improving with each day.
|Aug. 16 9:37 AM PT10:37 AM MT11:37 AM CT12:37 PM ET16:37 GMT12:37 AM 北京时间9:37 AM MST11:37 AM EST11:37 AM CT20:37 UAE12:37 ET15:37 - Newton will see his first game action since undergoing ankle surgery in March when the Panthers host the Kansas City Chiefs.
Analysis: Panthers coach Ron Rivera says he expects Newton to play at least a quarter on Sunday night, but he could see additional action depending on how well the offensive line protects him. It may also depend on whether Newton can control his competitive urges to take off and run from the pocket.
|June 19 10:11 AM PT11:11 AM MT12:11 PM CT1:11 PM ET17:11 GMT1:11 AM 北京时间10:11 AM MST12:11 PM EST12:11 PM CT21:11 UAE13:11 ET16:11 - Newton practiced for the first time since undergoing ankle surgery on March 19.

|Apr. 25 8:16 AM PT9:16 AM MT10:16 AM CT11:16 AM ET15:16 GMT11:16 PM 北京时间8:16 AM MST10:16 AM EST10:16 AM CT19:16 UAE11:16 ET14:16 - The Panthers have exercised the fifth-year option on Newton's contract, keeping him with the team through the end of the 2015 season. The team made the announcement Friday, after indicating it hoped to sign Newton to a long-term deal. By exercising the option on Newton's rookie deal, the Panthers will have more time to work out a longer contract.
Analysis: Newton, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft, is slated to make $3.37 million this season and would receive $14.67 million in 2015 if he doesn't sign a contract extension before then. Newton completed a career-high 61.7 percent of his passes last season and threw for 24 touchdowns and ran for six. He has started all 48 games during his three seasons with Carolina.
|Mar. 19 3:22 PM PT4:22 PM MT5:22 PM CT6:22 PM ET22:22 GMT6:22 AM 北京时间3:22 PM MST5:22 PM EST4:22 PM CT2:22 UAE (+1)18:22 ET21:22 - The Panthers say Cam Newton had successful surgery on his left ankle and the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback will be sidelined for four months. Panthers team physician Robert Anderson performed the surgery on Wednesday in Charlotte.
Analysis: Panthers head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion says in a release that "Dr. Anderson did not find anything unexpected in the procedure and the surgery went well." Newton first tweaked the ankle in a regular season game against New Orleans late in the season and then experienced some additional problems in Carolina's playoff loss to San Francisco on Jan. 12.
