IPFW holds off Denver in wild finish 88-84

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) Max Landis scored 30 points on 9-for-13 shooting and passed out seven assists to help IPFW hold off Denver 88-84 Saturday night and maintain a share of first place in the Summit conference standings with South Dakota State.

IPFW led 76-64 after DeAngelo Stewart hit a pair of free throws with 54 seconds left. But Thomas Neff hit a 3, Nate Engesser and Marcus Byrd each made back-to-back 3s, then Engesser hit another 3. With 12 seconds to play the Pioneers trailed 85-82.

From there Stewart made a pair of free throws and Landis made 1 of 2 from the line to blunt the comeback.
