(TSX / STATS) -- Former five-star recruit and McDonald's All-American Chase Jeter is transferring from Duke to Arizona.

Jeter played in 16 games last season but was limited by a back injury.

Jeter, a 6-foot-10 sophomore, announced his decision via Instagram. He posted a picture of himself wearing a Wildcats jersey and wrote:

"I'm heading to Tucson... #BearDown"

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Jeter will have to sit out the 2017-18 season before having two years of eligibility at Arizona, starting in the 2018-19 season.

Like UCLA, USC and Gonzaga, Arizona actively recruited him out of Bishop Gorman High School before he chose Duke.

Jeter visited Tucson with Pitt grad transfer Cameron Johnson, who has yet to announce his decision but is eligible immediately as a graduate student.
